Tentative Syllabus for IBPS Clerk Priliminary Computer Based Examination :
Numerical Ability: It will include questions on problems relating to Approximation and Simplification, Number Series, Integers and Whole Numbers , Decimals and Fractions , Relationship between numbers, LCM and HCF, Ages , Averages, Percentage, Ratio and Proportions, Mixtures and Alligation, Profit and Loss, Discount, Speed Time and Distance, Work and Time, Simple Interest and Compound Interest, Mensuration, Permutation and Combination, Probability, Inequality (Quadratic & Linear Equation), Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiency, Quantity comparison etc.
Reasoning Ability: The questions in this part intend to measure the candidates general learning ability. The questions will be broadly based on Series (Alphabetical series, Alpha-Numeric Series, Alpha-numeric-symbol series, Numeric series), Word or Number Pair, Word formation (Meaningful word), Odd one out, Word or Number based operations, Distance and Direction, Inequalities, Puzzles, Coding and Decoding, Order and ranking, Seating arrangements, Syllogism, Blood relations, Input-Output, Data sufficiency etc.
English Language: Candidates’ understanding of the basics of English Language , its Vocabulary (Spelling mistake, Idioms And Phrases, Word Usage, Word Swap, Word Rearrangement) , Grammar ( Basic Structure of English, Noun, Pronoun, Adjectives, Verb, Subject Verb Agreement, Tenses Rules, Adverbs, Prepositions, Conjunction , Articles, Phrasal verbs, Modals, Conditional Sentences, Sentence Connectors), Error Spotting (Spotting Error, Subject Object), Sentence matching based on Column, Sentence structure, Fill in the blank (Single Filler, Double Filler, Sentence Filler), etc. and test Comprehension (Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Jumbled Paragraph, Jumbled Sentences), a simple paragraph may be given and question based on the paragraph to be asked.
