Solution:

  • Speed of stream $ =3km/h $ Speed of man in still water $ =5km/h $ Now, speed of man downstream $ =(3+5)=8km/h $

$ \therefore $ Time taken to travel 26 km downstream $ =\frac{26}{8}=\frac{13}{4}=3\frac{1}{4}h $
