Solution:

Suppose, leak will empty the cistern in x h. Pan filled of tank in $ 1h=\frac{1}{8}-\frac{1}{x}=\frac{x-8}{8x} $

$ \therefore $ Cistern will fill in $ \frac{8x}{8-x}h. $ Again, $ \frac{8x}{-,8+x}=8+2=10 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 8x=-,80+10x $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 2x=80 $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=40 $
