Solution:

  • Let age of son be x yr. Father’s age $ =3x $ 15 yr’s, hence age of son $ =(x+15) $ Age of father $ =3x+15 $ According to the question,
    $ 3x+15=2(x+15) $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 3x+15=2x+30 $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=15 $ Sum of ages $ =x+3x=4x=60yr $
