Let the advertised price of item be Rs. x. Commission $ =\frac{x\times 23}{100} $

$ \Rightarrow $ Price after commission $ =x-\frac{23x}{100}=\frac{77x}{100} $ of the item $ =\frac{77x}{100}\times \frac{100}{100+10}=\frac{77x}{110}=\frac{7x}{100} $

$ \Rightarrow $ Profit $ =\frac{77x}{100}-\frac{7x}{10}=\frac{7x}{100} $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ 56=\frac{7x}{100} $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=Rs\text{.}800 $
