Solution:

  • Let speed of train be x m/s. Then, $ (x+3)\times \frac{5}{18}=\frac{240}{10} $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ x+3=\frac{24\times 18}{5}=86.4 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=86.4-3 $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=83.4,m/s $
