Solution:

  • $ 3M=8B $
    $ \Rightarrow $ $ 1M=\frac{8}{3}B $

$ \therefore $ $ 2M+6B=2\times \frac{8}{3}B+6B=\frac{34B}{3} $ According to the question, 8 boys finishes the work in 17 days.

$ \therefore $ $ \frac{34}{3} $ boys finishes the work in $ \frac{17\times 8\times 3}{34}=12days $
