$ \therefore $ Father’s age $ =(x+8),yr $ Average age of 6 sons = 8 yr
$ \therefore $ Sum of ages of 6 sons $ =8\times 6=48,yr $ Sum of age of 6 sons and parents $ 22\times 8=176 $
$ \therefore $ Sum of age of parents $ 176-48=128,yr $ According to the question, $ x+x+8=128 $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ 2x=120 $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=60 $
$ \therefore $ Mother’s age = 60 yr
