[IBPS (Office Assistant) 2015]
Options:
A) 5 : 4
B) 29 : 61
C) 61 : 29
D) 61 : 30
E) 7 : 8
Show Answer
Answer:
Correct Answer: C
Solution:
- Quantity of milk and water in first container $ =\frac{3}{5}, $ $ \frac{2}{5} $
Quantity of milk and water in second container $ =\frac{7}{10}, $ $ \frac{3}{10} $
and quantity of milk and water in third container $ =\frac{11}{15}, $ $ \frac{4}{15} $
Now, all this mixture poured in a single vessel.
$ \therefore $ Total quantity of milk
$ =\frac{3}{5}+\frac{7}{10}+\frac{11}{15}=\frac{122}{60}=\frac{61}{30} $
and total quantity of water
$ =\frac{2}{5}+\frac{3}{10}+\frac{4}{15}=\frac{58}{60}=\frac{29}{30} $
$ \therefore $ Required ratio of milk and water
$ =\frac{61}{30}:\frac{29}{30}=61:29 $
