Solution:

  • Let number of girls be Rs. x. and number of buffalos = y According to the questions, $ x+5=15 $ … (i) Because girls and buffalos have one head. and $ 2x+4y=46 $ … (ii) Because girls have two legs and buffalos have four legs. Now, solving Eqs. (i) and (ii), we have x = 7 and y = 8 Hence, number of girls x = 7 and number of buffalos y = 8
