Solution:

  • If the numbers are 2x and 3x. Then, LCM of 2x and $ 3x=6x $ LCM = 48 [given]

$ \therefore $ $ 6x=48 $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=\frac{48}{6}=8 $ So, total numbers are $ (8\times 2=16) $ and $ (8\times 3=24), $ respectively.

$ \therefore $ Sum $ =16+24=40 $
