E) Rs. 150

Show Answer

Answer:

Correct Answer: C

Solution:

  • Let the CP of watch be Rs. x.

$ \therefore $ CP of a wall clock $ =Rs.(390-x) $ Now, according to the question, 10% of $ x+50% $ of $ (390-x)=51.50 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ \frac{x\times 10}{100}+\frac{(390-x)\times 15}{100}=51.50 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 10x+5850-15x=5150 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ -,5x=-700 $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=140 $

$ \therefore $ CP of watch = Rs. 140 and CP of wall clock $ =Rs.(390-140)=Rs.250 $

$ \therefore $ Difference between their prices $ =250-140=Rs.,110 $
