$ \Rightarrow $ $ 106x=212,ft $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=\frac{212}{106}=2,ft $

$ \therefore $ Area of the floor = Length $ \times $ Breadth $ =(32\times 2)\times (21\times 2)=64\times 42 $ = 2688 sq ft Hence, cost of laying carpet $ =2688\times 2.5 $ = Rs. 6720
