Solution:

Let the average of 5 innings be x, Score in sixth innings = 80

$ \therefore $ Total of 5 innings = 5x According to the question, $ \frac{5x+80}{6}=x+5 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 5x+80=6x+30 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=80-30=50 $

$ \therefore $ His average after sixth innings $ =50+5=55 $
