Solution:

  • Let the given number be x. Then, $ {{(x-25)}^{2}}=x^{2}-25 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ x^{2}+625-50x=x^{2}-25 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 50x=650 $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=\frac{650}{50}=13 $
