Solution:

  • Let the number of questions attempted. Correctly is x.

$ \therefore $ $ (x\times 4)-1\times (75-x)=125 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 4x+x-75=125 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 5x=200 $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=40 $
