- Number of male members in club A in 2008
$ =2400\times \frac{20}{100}=480 $
Number of male members in club D in 2008
$ =2400\times \frac{12}{100}=288 $
Let the increased number $ =x $
$ \therefore $ $ \frac{480+x}{288+x}=\frac{17}{11} $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ 5280+11x-4896+17x $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ 6x=5280-4896=384 $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=64 $
$ \therefore $ Number of male members in club D in 2009
$ =288+64=352 $
