Solution:

  • Speed of a boat in still water $ =\frac{Distance}{\text{Time }}=\frac{12}{1}=12\text{km/h} $ Speed against the current $ =\frac{12}{3}=4km/h $ Let the speed of the current $ =xkm/h $ According to the question, $ 12-x=4 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=8km/h $
