Options:

A) 50.4%

Show Answer

Answer:

Correct Answer: B

Solution:

  • Let Rs. 100 be amount on which the given discount to be applied. Then, 30% discount on $ 100=\frac{(100-30)}{100}\times 100=70 $ Now, 20% discount on $ 70=\frac{(100-20)}{100}\times 70 $ $ =\frac{80}{100}\times 70=56 $ Again, 10% discount on $ 56=\frac{100-10}{100}\times 56 $ $ =\frac{90}{100}\times 56=9\times 5.6=50.4 $

$ \therefore $ Single discount $ =100-50.4=49.6 $ %
