Solution:

Let the son’s present age be x yr.

$ \therefore $ Father’s present age = 3x yr According to the question, $ 3x+15=2,(x+15) $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 3x+15=2x+30 $

$ \therefore $ $ x=30-15=15 $

$ \therefore $ Sum of their present ages $ =x+3x=4x $ $ =4\times 15=60,yr $
