Solution:

  • Speed of the boat in upstream $ =\frac{18}{3}=6,km/h $ Speed of the boat in downstream $ =\frac{18}{9}=2,km/h $ Then, speed of boat in still water $ =\frac{6+2}{2}=\frac{8}{2}=4,km/h $
