Solution:

Let the money spent by the ninth persons = Rs. x Then, total average $ =\frac{8\times 30+x}{9}=\frac{240+x}{9} $ According to the question, $ x=\frac{240+x}{9}+20 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 9x=240+x+180 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 8x=420 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=Rs.52.50 $

$ \therefore $ Total money spent by all $ =240+52.50 $ = Rs. 292.50
