  • Let the 100 kg sugar price be Rs. 100, If price of sugar raised by 25%. New price of 100 kg sugar $ =\frac{125}{100}\times 100=Rs\text{. 125} $ Price difference $ =125-100=25 $ He has to reduce his consumption by $ \frac{25}{125}\times 100=20 $ % Alternate Method Per cent decrease $ =\frac{a}{100+a}\times 100 $ % Here, $ a=25 $ $ =\frac{25}{100+25}\times 100=\frac{25}{125}\times 100=20 $ %
