Solution:

Quantity of acid in the mixture $ =\frac{2}{3}\times 60=40L $ Quantity of water $ =60-40=20L $ Let required quantity of water $ =xL $

$ \therefore $ $ \frac{40}{20+x}=\frac{1}{2} $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ 80=20+x $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=60L $
