Solution:

  • There are 8 letters in the given words shipping in which two P’s are alike and two I’s are alike. By taking two P’s as 1 unit and two I’s as another unit and the rest all different we have total 6 different units. These can be arranged in 6 ways $ =6\times 5\times 4\times 3\times 2\times 1=720 $ Since, two I’s can be arranged among themselves in one way and two P’s can be arranged in one way.

$ \therefore $ Required arrangement $ =6!,\times 1\times 1 $ $ =720\times 1\times 1=720 $ ways
