Correct Answer: C

Solution:

  • Let the son’s present age by $ xyr. $ Then, the father’s present age is $ (x+30)yr. $
    Father’s age after $ 10yr=(x+40)yr $ Son’s age after $ 10yr=(x+10)yr $ Now, according to the question, $ (x+40)=3(x+10) $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ x+40=3x+30 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 2x=10yr $

$ \therefore $ $ x=5yr $
