  • Let the ages of two persons be $ 4x $ and $ 7x $ respectively. According to the question, $ 7x-4x=30 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 3x=30 $
$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=40 $ Age of first person $ =4\times 10=40yr $ Age of second person $ =7\times 10=70yr $ Sum of their ages $ =40+70=110yr $
