  • Let the required number be $ x. $

$ \therefore $ $ \frac{6+x}{7+x}=\frac{15+x}{17+x} $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 102+17x+6x+x^{2}=105+15x+7x+x^{2} $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 102+23x=105+22x $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ x=3 $
