  • [c] Let present age of Vishal $ =14x $ and present age of Shekhar $ =17x $ After 6 yr, age of Vishal $ =14x+6 $ Age of Shekar $ =17x+6 $ According to the question, $ \frac{14x+6}{17x+6}=\frac{17}{20} $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 20,(14x+6)=17,(17x+6) $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 280x+120=289x+102 $

$ \Rightarrow $ $ 9x=18\Rightarrow x=2 $ Shekhar’s present age $ =17\times 2=34,yr $
