Six-eleventh of a number is equal to twenty two percent of second number. Second number is equal to the one-fourth of third number. The value of the third number is 2400 , What is the $45 \%$ of first number?

Solution: (5)
Second number $=2400 \times \frac{1}{4}=600$
If the first number be $x$, then
$x \times \frac{6}{11}=600 \times \frac{22}{100}=132$
$\Rightarrow x=\frac{132 \times 11}{6}=242$
$\therefore 45 \%$ of 242 $=242 \times \frac{45}{100}=108.9$
